Kombos-Shoukry hold extensive discussions on bilateral relations and Middle East

Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos and Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry have had extensive discussions on further enhancing strategic bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East.

Kombos wrote on platform X that he met with Sameh Shoukry in Brussels on 23 January within the margins of the EU-Egypt Association Council and that the two held "extensive discussions on further enhancing Cyprus-Egypt strategic bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East including the need to revive the peace process."

He also noted that he looks forward to welcoming Sameh Shoukry to Cyprus.

On the Egyptian side, the MFA Spokesperson wrote on X that the Cypriot Foreign Minister confirmed Cyprus's unlimited support for the path of elevating relations between Egypt and the EU.
