This is what Larnaca and Paphos airports will look like after completion of Phase II works (video)

The foundation stone for Phase II of the development of Larnaca and Paphos airports was laid on 5 June in the presence of President Nikos Christodoulides.

The ceremony, held at Larnaca Airport, marked the beginning of a milestone project for the air transport sector and Cyprus broader development strategy. It will ensure that our airports can effectively meet the needs of a new era in travel—one that extends beyond the current Concession Agreement period.

What Phase II includes

The new phase involves extensive upgrades:

  • A new annex at Larnaca Airport’s terminal with departure and arrival gates, which will be connected to the main terminal building
  • Additional baggage carousels, expanded passport control and security check areas, and an enlarged commercial zone
  • Increased aircraft parking positions

In Paphos:

  • A 30% capacity increase for the terminal
  • Extension of the southern parallel taxiway

After completion

  • Total passenger capacity will reach 17.4 million passengers annually
  • Total budget: €170 million
  • Contractors: Bouygues Bâtiment International & Iacovou Brothers (Constructions) Ltd
  • Completion Date: Q3 2027
