Sales of petroleum products down 7% y-o-y in February

Total sales of petroleum products recorded an annual decrease of 7% to 107,779 tonnes this February, according to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

In January – February 2023, total sales of petroleum products fell by 4.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

A 63.5% decrease was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil in February, while sales of heavy and light fuel oil fell 24.5% and 9.5% respectively, with road diesel sales dropping 0.4.

In contrast, aviation kerosene sales increased by 43.5%, while asphalt sales were up 9.6%, heating gasoil up 6.3%, kerosene increased by 5.8%, motor gasoline rose 3.1% and liquefied petroleum gases up 2.5%.

Sales from filling stations have registered a marginal fall of 0.3% to 53,669 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in February 2023 compared to January 2023 recorded a drop of 2.7%.

Indicatively, a drop was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 6.1%, marine gasoil by 5.9% and of motor gasoline 3.7%, while the sales of road diesel slightly increased by 0.2%.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of February 2023 rose by 1%, compared to the end of the previous month.
