The ‘Wild Kong’ of Limassol, the impressive blue sculpture of a gorilla that dominates the main entrance of The Icon, has been reunited with its creator.
French artist Richard Orlinski, known around the world for his imaginative, colorful sculptures representing wild animals, was in Limassol for business and chose to stay at The Icon. There, Orlinski encountered one of his creations, the blue "Wild Kong" and was pleased to sign the artwork.
Recognising the importance and positive impact of art on people's lives, Imperio introduced visual arts to real estate in Cyprus. The sculpture was placed at the entrance of The Icon at the end of 2021, after the completion of the building’s construction work, becoming the talk of the town. Now it has become identified with the building and has acquired its own fans. Passers-by stop by the building every day to admire the French artist’s masterpiece, take pictures and feel some of its... wild charm.
It is worth noting that Orlinski has exhibited his famous works in galleries around the world, while, since 2015, he has held the title of French contemporary artist with the most sold works in the world.
