EAC's Andreas Ioannides re-appointed President of the new CyAQ Board

The Cyprus Association for Quality’s recent AGM included the election of a new Board of Directors, including the re-election of Andreas Ioannides as President.

According to an announcement from the Association, which is a member of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB), the new board is as follows:

  • President Andreas Ioannides (EAC)
  • Vice President: Dr. Alecos Loizides (Hellenic Bank)
  • Secretary: Christina Pitrakkou (Swiss Approval)
  • Treasurer: Dr. Adrian Ioannou
  • Members:
    -Dr. Marianna Kourouzidou (Vassiliko Cement Works)
    -Akis Nicolaides (Cyprus Productivity Center)
    -Anastasia Anthousi (Data Knights)
    -George Panayiotou (KEAN)
    -Christophoros Christoforou (Iron Mountain)
    -Dr. Mary Kyriacou

The Board of Directors also proceeded to establish Thematic Committees, consisting of its members, with the mission of preparing and implementing targeted action plans aimed at modernising the operation of the Association and further upgrading services to members and the wider society.

The committees that have been established are:

  • Events Committee
  • Members Committee
  • Education Committee
  • Communication Committee

The Cyprus Association for Quality remains committed to its mission of promoting the culture of quality and providing substantial support to Cypriot businesses and organisations, through targeted actions and strategic partnerships, the announcement concluded.

The Cyprus Quality Association was founded in 2001 with the initial name Business Association ISO 9000 certified as a non-profit organisation and has been incorporated in the power of members of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB).

Since 2003 the Association has been a full member of the European Organisation of Quality (EOQ) and from April 2005 is National Representative (National Representative) of Cyprus in the EOQ. In February 2006, the Association expanded and was renamed Cyprus Quality Association. The objective of the Association is to play a role of paramount importance for the progress and prosperity of businesses and consumers by promoting Quality.

The purpose of the Association is the promotion of members of the Association and their visibility among the state, semi-sector, the business world and the general public. Promoting problems faced by members of the Association in relation to Management Systems, Business Excellence Models or other standards apply. The continuous support and strengthen members to quality issues including the organisation of seminars, conferences and other activities.
