The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose by 3.1% between December 2023 and December 2024, and decreased by 0,3% in the month between November 2024 and December 2024, CySTAT has reported.
It added that for the period January – December 2024, the HICP rose by 2.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
It is further noted that for the period January – December 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, the largest change was observed in the category Restaurants and Hotels (5.5%).
Compared to December 2023, the categories Recreation and Culture (7.5%), Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (7.3%) and Restaurants and Hotels (5.4%) showed the largest positive changes.
In comparison to November 2024, the largest changes were recorded in the categories Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (1.0%) and Transport (-1.7%).
The largest changes in economic categories compared to December 2023 were observed in the categories of Food-Alcoholic Beverages-Tobacco (5.9%) and Services (4.5%), while compared to the previous month, the largest change was observed in the category of Services (-0.9%).
