President Nikos Christodoulides has congratulated the leader of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, Friedrich Merz, on the Union's election victory on 23 February.
"Congratulations Friedrich Merz on this important victory, at a crucial time for Europe, for our Union," Christodoulides wrote in a post on X.
The Cypriot President had a meeting with Merz last month in Berlin, on the sidelines of European People's Party extraordinary Informal Summit.
